Collective Action for Reciprocity and Equity
C.A.R.E. is an aspiring 501(c)(4) nonprofit dedicated to advancing environmental reciprocity as a framework for justice across social, political, and economic life.
We recognize that the health of human and more-than-human communities operates within a deeply interconnected system, and that today’s extractive, exploitative, and divisive models—such as capitalism, consumerism, racism, colonialism and elitism, imperialism, militarism, —undermine both people and the planet.
By restoring balance in our relationships with the earth and with one another, we believe communities can thrive.
Through advocacy, education, and engagement, C.A.R.E. seeks to build collective power, foster equitable development, and cultivate trust for a more just and resilient future as well as an intentional and radical present.
โโ
Our mission is rooted in community empowerment, environmental justice, system resilience, and thread seeking
โ
We uplift these values through education, research, political advocacy, and community outreach.
โ
Community Empowerment - Strengthening local communities directly, supporting and strengthening their capacity to act, decide, lead, and care.
Environmental Justice -Ensuring the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all species and ecosystems in decisions that affect their health, well-being, and survival, recognizing that human and more-than-human justice are inseparable.
System Resilience - Fostering a reciprocal relationship with the land and ecosystems we inhabit, living bioregionally, and nurturing the capacity of natural and social systems to thrive in balance.
Thread Seeking - Cultivating empathy by tracing the connections between individuals, communities, and ecosystems; recognizing our intrinsic interdependence and intersectionality while using this awareness to strengthen collective understanding and collective action.
